Banana Turon

Sweet and Crispy Banana TuronIngredients:1 pack Lumpia Wrapper (30 pieces)
15 pieces ripe cooking banana, sliced lengthwise thick
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup cooking oil
2 teaspoon cornstarch, diluted in 1/2 cup water and microwave for a minute

Directions:
Place a banana on the middle of the wrapper. Cover the banana with a teaspoon of sugar. Fold the portion of the wrapper nearest you over the banana until just covered. Turn the wrapper again to enclose the banana securely. Moisten the left and right hand edges of the wrapper with cornstarch egg. Fold over the corners and press down firmly to seal, making an envelope. Moisten the flap of the envelope with cornstarch and turn, rolling firmly into a cylinder. Seal firmly. Set aside, seam side down. Repeat with remaining slices.
Heat oil in a wok to 375 degrees. Place 1/2 cup of brown sugar first then 4 or 5 turon at a time in the hot oil. Fry until crisp and golden. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.

adding "langka" is great too...would recommend frying first before adding sugar.

some even add chocnut to make a choc nut turon.

this turon inspired goldliocks to make a fried halo halo.

halo halo ingredients are placed in lumpia wrappers then fried and served with ice cream

Hi Anon,
Sometimes I do add langka but my family is not into langka. Specially the kids. I also like putting the sugar first before adding the turon cuz it turns out like banana Q. Try it next time.
