Crispy Shrimp Tempura

Tempura Shrimp Ingredients:
12 pcs. good size shrimp, peeled and devein without removing tail
1 pc. egg
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup water
1 pck. tempura batter mix, store bought (you could use bread crumbs if tempura batter mix is not available
1 cup cooking oil Tempura Shrimp Cooking Direction:
On a bowl mix eggs and ice water in a bowl.
Add flour in the egg mixture. Lightly mix the batter.
Place the tempura batter mix on a separate bowl.
Heat oil for frying over medium heat. Drop a little flour mixture on the oil. If the flour mixture comes up right away then the oil is ready for frying.
Dip the shrimp, first on the flour mixture first then the tempura batter mix. Fry the shrimp right away till golden crispy brown.
Serve tempura shrimp right away with your favorite dipping sauce like sweet & sour or teriyaki sauce. I like using honey dijon mustard dressing.
Tempura is best served hot.
